Award winning Inupiaq Eskimo artist Leon misak Kinneeveauk was raised in point hope Alaska were he learned the inupiaq style art from his uncle Jacob lane, Leon currently resides in anchorage Alaska were he runs his art business Misak inupiaq art and is the founder and director of Alaska Art Alliance a non profit that provides free carving space to carvers in the anchorage area, his style of inupiaq art ranges from carving walrus ivory,bowhead whale bone,soapstone, wood, he does bowhead whale baleen and ivory skrimshaw,inupiaq ivory hunting scenes, inupiaq prints,inupiaq greeting cards, inupiaq masks, qayaqs, whale hunting boats, ivory jewelry, Ivory snow goggles etc. in 2022 he entered his work in the world renowned Santa Fe Indian market in New Mexico and won best of division A sculpture and first place in sculpture , and in 2023 he entered his work in the world renowned Phoenix Arizona heard museum Indian market were he won best of class in sculpture, first place in mixed media, Inovation award
